Nerge Road Improvements

Elk Grove Village

OBJECTIVE

A half-mile stretch of Nerge Road in Elk Grove Village had deteriorated and required resurfacing as well as upgrades to traffic signals, pavement markings, and sidewalk curb ramps to ensure they were ADA compliant.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR) provided Phase III provided construction engineering services for the federally funded resurfacing, traffic signal modernization, pavement marking, and ADA/PROWAG upgrades.

Other project elements included: preformed Thermoplastic stamped HMA crosswalks and medians, non-special waste disposal, structure adjustments, roadway patching, Longitudinal Joint Sealant, sewer replacement, landscape restoration, and federal funding documentation. The project included extensive coordination with IDOT, local businesses, Elk Grove Village, and with adjacent Village and Cook and DuPage County roadway projects.

The federally funded project was completed in 2020 – on time and within budget.
