OBJECTIVE

HLR completes environmental reviews of projects within Illinois, ensuring compliance with the Municipal/County Stormwater Ordinance regarding stormwater and wetland permitting.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Nicor Gas Company (Nicor) conducts routine operations and maintenance activities involving the relocation, repair, or reconditioning of existing company pipelines, facilities, and associated appurtenances within the Company's natural gas system. The service area of Nicor includes 33 counties and approximately 600 municipalities throughout Illinois. As environmental consultants, our role is to support the project review, permitting, and compliance inspections managed by Nicor Gas' Environmental Affairs department.

HLR is responsible for conducting site visits in environmentally sensitive areas identified within proposed projects, submitting reports, reviewing plans, applying for permits, and conducting inspections during construction as required. This may involve conducting wetland determinations, tree surveys, and surveys for threatened or endangered species.
